Minutes after his takeover, new Chief Justice (CJ) Surendra Kumar Sinha reconstituted the Appellate Division Bench of the Supreme Court on Saturday.
SC Registrar SM Kuddus Zaman told reporters that a four-member bench with Chief Justice Sinha as its head and another three-member bench headed by next senior-most Justice M Wahhab Miah have been constituted.
Meanwhile, Chief Justice Sinha placed wreaths at the National Memorial in Savar in the afternoon to pay homage to those who sacrificed their lives during the
Liberation War in 1971. Some judges of both the divisions of the Supreme Court accompanied him.
Earlier, local MP Dr Enamur Rahman and 9th Infantry Division GOC Maj Gen Waqar uz Zaman welcomed the new Chief Justice at the memorial.
