Chief Justice (CJ) M Muzammel Hossain lauded recent development in empowering women in Bangladesh but also sounded a note of caution saying there is no place for complacency yet.
“Bangladesh has made some tremendous achievement in women empowerment. Number of woman judges has been increased significantly.
Number of woman lawyers is also on rise,” he said. The chief justice came up with the observation on Saturday while addressing a justice sector conference on violence against women in Bangladesh. Ministry of Law is staging this two-day conference at Ruposhi Bangla Hotel, with the support from UNDP’s justice sector facility project.
