UNB, Dhaka :Chief Justice SK Sinha on Saturday sought the law minister’s help in smoothly running the administrative work of the judiciary, saying no judicial work can be implemented without the help of the executive.”The judiciary is an organ of the state. Administrative organs are deeply interlinked with each other which can’t be ignored. We want to runharmoniously maintaining co-operation with the other organs,” he said while speaking at a reception accorded to him by Bangladesh Women Judges Association (BWJA) at Judicial Administration Training Institute auditorium.Law Minister Anisul Huq spoke at the programme as a special guest with BWJA president Nurunnahar Osmani in the chair.Mentioning that there are 343 women judges in the country, the Chief Justice said there are no as many female judges in other countries of the world other than Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands.Noting that other departments of the government move much ahead in terms of digitisation, he said the judiciary lags behind in this regard. “Although the officials of the other organs get laptops, those in the judiciary are yet to receive that.”He, however, said laptops will be distributed among all judges within three months.Referring to the government’s move to digitise the judiciary, SK Sinha said the Prime Minister will announce the move in her convenient time.Speaking on the occasion, the law minister said the government is aware about the constitutional obligations. “We’re determined to establish justice in the country. The present government has taken a number of initiatives to this end.”He assured the Chief Justice that his ministry will provide all-out assistance to the positive steps taken by him to reform and develop the judiciary in people’s interest.Anisul also said, the Law Ministry will do everything for launching day care services for the children of female judges.At the programme, women judges placed a number of demands to the Chief Justice and the Law Minister. The demands include ensuring their security and providing housing facility.
