Chief Justice of Bangladesh SK Sinha has assures to set up a High court ciruit bench in Chittagong from January next while discussing with the leaders of HC Circuit Bench Implementation Parishad at Chittagong University, District PP Adv Abul Hashem said.
District PP said they paid a courtesy call on Chief justice at a function of Chittagong University on Saturday and CJ assures them for a HC Circuit bench from next year. CJ said Prime Minister is very much keen to establish a bench in Chittagong while exchanging views with the leaders of the Ctg lawyers team, District PP sources said.
Coordinator of the HC Bench Implementation Parishad Advocate Kashem Kamal in a press release informed the media about the assurance of the Chief Justice.
Chief Justice SK Sinha attended the opening ceremony of Chittagong University Law Faculty on Saturday as chief guest. Among others, chairman of Human rights Commission Dr. Mizanur Rahman, Vice chancellor of CU Dr. Iftikarudding chowdhury, Member of Law commission dr.l Shah Alam, Registrar of Supreme court General Syed Aminul Islam, Chittagong District and Session Judge Nurul Huda, District PP Adv Abul Hashem, Adv Kashem Kamal, Adv. Sankar Prasad Dey of HCBIP were present on the occasion.
Earlier on September 2 last, Chief Justice visited Chittagong court building. The leaders of the Ctg lawyers Association exchanged views with the Chief justice during his visit in last month, sources said.
