The Civil Engineering Building of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) has been renamed after Dr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury Civil Engineering Building.
An application was made by the BUET Alumni Association to the Vice-Chancellor on 29 January 2021 to name the BUET Civil Engineering Building after Professor Dr. Jamilur Reza Chowdhury.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Satya Prasad Majumder and Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Abdul Jabbar Khan took necessary steps in this regard.
Following this on 26 March 2021 at the 58th meeting of the Faculty of Civil Engineering the proposal was unanimously adopted to rename the Civil Engineering Building as ‘Dr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury Civil Engineering Building’
The proposal to rename the civil engineering building as Dr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury Civil Engineering Building was approved at the 523rd session of BUET Syndicate was held on April 6 last.
