Civic life in the port city completely paralysed following the three days incessant rainfall accompanied with gusty wind . All types of road expansion works, water-logging project work remain stranded . All khals, drains over flowed and hence transportation in low lying and under constructed areas became stranded . The heavy incessant torrential rainfall in Chattogram and its adjoining districts inundated the all low lying areas of the port city . the dwelling houses in these areas including kutcha and semi pucca houses and ground floors of the residential buildings gone under waist deep water .
 The house hold utensil in the shanties flown away with the current of water Kitchen markets of Chowkbazar, Bahaddarhat,Bibirhat, Halishahar, Baizid , Reazuddin Bazar , and whole sale markets of Chaktai , Khatungonj completely submerged on ground floor caused heavy loss of the whole sale grocery market. Following the inundation of ground floor, the godowns of essential commodities suffered severe loss . The speed of rain was severe nature after midnight as such the godown owners and wholesales of essentials could not imagine the losses during night time. The footpath venders so installed temporarily on the occasion of Eid shopping badly damaged with the cyclonic storm and gusty wind accompanied with heavy downpour.
A number of sources said the Eid shoppers of the low lying areas could not return their homes before Sehri due to rain and submerged situation. Maritime ports of Chattogram hoisted cautionary signal no.3 until further orders. According Patenga office, Chattogram experienced 205 milimeter rainfall during the night. The prevailing water-logging of Chattogram turn unbearable following the new seasonal rainfall.
Conscious circle observes the city resident face more sufferings of water-logging than earlier because of non implementation of water-logging project before rainy season. In the meantime, district administration asked the hiill pocket dwellers of Motijharna, Baizid, Amin jute mills, Battalihills, to leave from hill pocket areas fearing hill slide by this seasonal rain.
Heavy rainfaill recorded in three hill districts of Rangamati Band Arban and Khagrachari. Rangamati district experienced ever highest rainfall of 262 milimeter during last twenty four hours, met office sources said. Almost areas of Raozan, Fatikchari, Rangunia, Boalkhali upazilas adjoining hill districts submerged with flash flood water and the lowlying areas of these upazilas worst affected than any such situation earlier. Out of the adjoining upazilas, Raozan badly affected . The road communications snapped on Chattagram-Rangamati and Bandarban road due to damage of bridge and road over flowed .
 The sorrow famous Dabua embankment in Raozan broken and one bridge on Moulana Dost Mohammad road towards Fatikchari totally damaged due to heavy downfall flash flood water from upstream.
Conscious quarters observed lack of proper water-logging project work, half done bridge constructions in different points of the city and non-cleaning of khals and drains , this severe situation arised. Some quarter opined due to tussle between City corporation and CDA over the city development and canals excavation programs , this worst water logging situation created caused unbearable sufferings of the city dwellers.
