A modern diagnostic and consultancy centre with special health facilities for poor patients was opened at Tarabo in Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj on Monday.
Hasina Gazi, Mayor of Tarabo Pourashava and wife of Jute and Textile Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi, attended the inaugural ceremony of the centre named ‘City Lab Medical Services’ as the chief guest.
A group of doctors and social workers have initiated it jointly.
Officials said the City Lab will render health services at an affordable cost.
Eye, dental and physiotherapy services will be available at Tk. 200 only every morning.
Other facilities are free treatment by MBBS doctors every Friday, and special discount for poor patients with five percent discount on local and foreign medicines.
Alternative medicines such as ayurveda and homeopathy will also be available.
Dr. Iftekhar Ahmed, Assistant Professor of Institute of Child and Mother Health (ICMH), Panel Mayor Amir Hossain Bhuiyan of Tarabo Pourashava and Delwar Hossain, Director of Manush Manusher Jonno, were present on the occasion.
