Staff Reporter :
The Dhaka city unit of the BNP has warned the government of facing dire consequence if it does not return BNP leader Salahuddin Ahmed safe and unhurt to his family.
The city unit convener Mirza Abbas and member secretary Habibun Nabi Khan Sohel issued the threat in a joint statement on Wednesday.
The two leaders criticised the government for delivering reckless statement about Salahuddin.
They said that if the government does return the BNP leader, once it (government) would have to stand in dock.
They also claimed that the law enforcers picked up some other BNP leaders, including former Chhatral Dal organising secretary Anisur Rahman Talukder Khokon. The government is doing these in attempt to foil the ongoing movement. The movement will not be foiled, they said.
The two leaders called upon the government to come in a compromise over the issue of mid-term election under a non-party government system.
