City Bank and American Express launched its 2nd international Lounge at Hazrat Shahajalal International Airport on Tuesday. The lounge named “City Bank American Express Platinum Lounge” will cater to the City Bank American Express Platinum Credit Card members. Customers of Citygem and Citygem Sapphire, exclusive priority banking arm of the Bank can also avail this lounge, said a press release.
The facilities at the lounge are complementary and the guests will enjoy 5-star experience from the moment they step into this luxurious wave themed lounge. With a seating capacity of 42 guests and a spacious reception lobby, the lounge is designed to provide the guests with state-of-the-art facilities including business center, prayer room, high speed wifi, dedicated American Express card service desk. The spacious buffet area provides a multi-cuisine array of scrumptious food and beverages prepared by Intercontinental Dhaka. Each seat is designed with charging facilities and reading lamps for convenience and flexibility. Earlier City Bank and American Express has set a benchmark by establishing country’s first international Airport Lounge in 2010 followed by country’s only Domestic Airport in 2013 at Dhaka Airport.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister AKM Shahjahan Kamal, MP, inaugurated the lounge as the chief guest while the Secretary of the Ministry Md. Mohibul Haque, Civil Aviation Authority Chairman Air Vice Marshal M Naim Hassan, Chairman of the Bank Mohammed Shoeb, Vice-Chairperson Tabassum Kaiser, former Chairman and Director Aziz Al Kaiser and Divya Jain, Vice-President of Global Network Services (South Asia) American Express attended the event as special guests.
