Citi named Best Digital Bank in Asia

Citi was named the Best Digital Bank in Asia by The Asset Magazine in its inaugural Asset Triple-A Digital Enterprise Awards.
The bank also picked up best Digital Bank in India and Indonesia, said a press release. These banking services include Citi’s award winning mobile and internet banking applications across the 12 markets in which the bank has consumer operations in Asia.
“In Asia Pacific, Citi was a clear digital banking champion. With its well-designed online system, clients can perform over 100 banking transactions online,” said Daniel Yu, editor in chief of the Asset Magazine.
“This award is welcome recognition for our progress in digital banking and especially mobile banking in the region. Consumer preferences are changing and a generational shift in behaviour is driving consumers to new digital channels and our priority is to ensure we are offering the best customer experience across digital banking,” said Anand Selva, Head of Consumer Banking for Citi in Asia Pacific.
Apart from providing access to all basic banking functionalities on mobile the bank is also constantly innovating to offer features such as Snapshot, Touch ID and In-app notifications.
Earlier this year, Citi also announced it had connected its banking services to Alipay and WeChat in China with further updates and rollouts coming in 2016.
New Citibank branches have also taken on a digital model. These “smart-banking” branches include interactive touch panels, video-conferencing capabilities and full-service banking from devices such as iPhones and iPads.
