Chittagong International Trade Fair ( CITF)-2015 , which installed at Railway Pologround maidan on March 3, get momentum.
A visitor of the fair yesterday revealed that all the stalls and pavilions runs operations and the merchandise were displayed in the showroom to attract the visitors.. Visitors rush witnessed on Friday but the sale of merchandise and other household items not geared up even on weekly holiday yesterday.
Being a weekend, attendance at the fair was large . Most of the visitors were seen loitering near the furniture, crockery and textile stalls. . Some fair participants blamed lack of adequate publicity for the business flaw. Thailand is the partner country of the CITF-2015 and India, Iran, Turkey and Pakistan installed their pavilions in the fair. On tenth day of the fair yesterday, huge visitors witnessed in the fair but proportionately sale of merchandise not desirable, a stall owner told this correspondent.
A housewife of Agrabad area Monoara Akhter told that the prices o the household items fixed with high price as a result they declined to procure these items from the fair stall. More than 400 enterprises are participating in the fair this year. The fair would remain open for visitors from 10 am to 10 pm. India, Turkey, Pakistan and Iran are participating, while Thailand is participating as the partner country for the 12th time.
The security measures this year in the fair venue is tougher than earlier. A permanent police camp also set up in fair venue and adequate forces have been deployed. In the meantime CMP commissioner Abdul Jalil Mondal visited the fair venue on thursday to witness the security meaures. Bank facilities also providing through installing a booth of Union Bank Ltd .
