Customs Intelligence & Investigation Department mobile team detained a covered van at Korbanigonj area in the port city on Wednesday night. The covered van was loaded with poly-propailin raw materials .
Acting on secret information, a team of CIID conducted raid in the Korbanigonj area and detained the covered van at about 11 pm on Wednesday.
The covered van driver could not show the orginal import documents of the imported raw materials that imported under bond facilities.
After interrogation of the driver and helper of the van, the covered van handed over to Chittagong Customs House custody .
Covered van No.Dhaka-TA-16-6033. The approximate cost of these polythene raw material is about Tk.68 lakh.
Mentionable that Customs Intelligence deptt is conducting monthlong survillence against the false declared imports and govt tax evasion.
