The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Monday pressed charges against Sharful Hasan alias Mishu Hasan, a close associate of model and former TV presenter Faria Mahbub Piyasha, in an arms case filed with Bhatara Police Station.
Investigation Officer of the case, CID Inspector Mohammad Rahat Khan,submitted the charge sheet in the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka, showing 12 people as prosecution witnesses.
Earlier on August 3, RAB arrested Mishu and Masudul Hasan alias Jisan, another associate of Piyasha, from the capital’s Bashundhara residential area. Later, they recovered a firearm, 1,600 Yaba pills, a luxury Ferrari car, fake Indian currency and some pornography CDs from their possession.
Following the incidents, elite force filed five cases against them, of which four are with Bhatara Police Station and one with Khilkhet Police Station under the Arms Act, Narcotics Control Act, Special Powers Act and Pornography Act.
Mishu was sued in three cases filed with Bhatara Police Station under the Arms Act, Narcotics Control Act and Pornography Act while Jisan was sued with Bhatara and Khilkhet Police Stations under the Narcotics Control Act, Special Powers Act and Pornography Act. He was placed on nine days’ remand in the cases, while Jisan was placed on seven days’ remand.
