The Criminal Investi-gation Depart-ment (CID) of Police yesterday arrested an Islamic speaker from Dhaka’s South Keraniganj area on charge of delivering speech that generates unrest in Cumilla on October 13.
A team of Cyber Monitoring Cell arrested Abdur Rahim Biplobi (39), during a raid in Chunkutia area of South Keraniganj around 7:30 am yesterday (Thursday), said a press release sent by CID Additional SP Azad Rahman.
During primary interrogation, Biplobi admitted to instigating people with his speech during a programme following the Cumilla incident.
In this regard, a case was filed with Paltan Police Station in the capital under the Digital Security Act.
