The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the police has arrested four members of an organized gang which used to trap young women and make them commit immoral activities by showing various temptations.
The accused have been identified as Md. Masum Billah (28), Beauty (42), Sabina Alam (50) and Md. Rubel (30).
They were arrested from Jatrabari and Gulshan of the capital on Wednesday (March 9). A laptop, four smartphones and three mobile phone sets were seized from their processions.
This was stated by Additional DIG of CID Imam Hossain at a press conference held at the Malibagh CID office on Thursday noon.
DIG said the ring used the names and pictures of famous models, actresses and celebrities to engage the young girls into immoral activities in exchange of money. Masum Billah, one of the members of the clique, used a website called bdmarketing24.com and offered it to the public, including important figures of the country, via SMS.
And in this way many helpless young women from different areas including Dhaka were forced to do immoral activities. After setting the target, they are forced to do so by contacting them directly. The cycle has been eroding the social values from the country. The CID official also said that legal action would be taken against those arrested.
