Communications Minister Obaidul Quader yesterday said the Chittagong Hill Tracts will experience an innovative change in communication infrastructure within two years.
“The face of Chittagong Hill Tracts will change… revolutionary change in the communication system of Chittagong will be visible in two years,” the Minister said while visiting the newly constructed Bandarban-Bangalhalia roads under Engineering Construction Battalion of Bangladesh Army at Bandarban.
“The government has taken an initiative to build a tourism-based special economical zone in the CHT through expanding its internal connectivity,” he said.
Director of Special Works Organisation (SWO) Brigadier General Mohammad Abdul Wahab, Executive Engineer of Bandarban Road Division Fazlul Huq and other senior officers were present.
The Minister also visited different tourism spots ‘Nilachal’, ‘Meghla’ and ‘Shoilo Propat’ at Bandarban and exchanged greetings with the tourists.
Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Moktadir Chowdhury was present with the Minister.
