Former minister and BNP’s Vice-Chairman Chowdhury Kamal Ibne Yusuf died of coronavirus at a private hospital on Wednesday. He was 81.
The BNP leader breathed his last at 1:00pm in the city’s Ever Care Hospital while undergoing treatment there, confirmed Shairul Kabir Khan, a member of BNP chairperson’s media wing.
Kamal, former President of Faridpur district Jubo Dal, was admitted to the hospital on November 21 with pneumonia. He tested Covid-19 positive at the hospital.
He was elected member of the parliament from Faridpur-3 constituency five times and served as State Minister for LGED, Minister for Relief and Disaster Management and Minister for Health.
