Chopped dead body of a union parishad member of Bakerganj upazila was recovered from an abandoned house adjacent to Uttampur village under Darial union of the upazila in Barisal on Monday noon.
The victim was identified as Sheikh Nizamuddin Goribullah, 44, member of Dudhal union parishad and missing from his house since Saturday evening.
Abdul Latif Haoladar, Chairman , Dudhal UP, said Goribullah was an AL activist.
Goribullah was accused in different cases for violating women; terrorism etc. said Anwar Hossain, Bakerganj police station officer in charge.
The dead body was found from an abandoned house of Wasim Khan at Uttampur village under Darial union of the upazila.
Wasim was cousin of Shima Begum, complainant of one of the case lodged against the victim for violating her, said Kanailal, sub inspector of the police station after visiting the spot.
Shima Begum and her family members fled from their house and police recovering the dead body sent to Barisal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, SI Kanailal told.
