Chittagong Division won gold medal in the Boys’ Division of the Handball Competition of the Bangladesh Youth Games beating Mymensingh Division by 23-8 goals in the final at the Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium on Wednesday. Mymensingh Division collected silver medal.Chittagong led the first half 16-3.
Reng Pong Marma, Uchathowal Marma, Oraching of Chittagong Division scored five goals each and their teammate Azad Hossain netted four goals.
Muminul Islam of Mymensingh Division pulled off four.
After the final match, President of Bangladesh Olympic Association and Chief of Army Staff Abu Belal Muhammad Shafiul Huq distributed the prizes among the winners as the chief guest. Secretary General of Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) Syed Shahed Reza, Deputy-Secretary General of BOA Ashiqur Rahman Miku, Deputy-Secretary General of BOA Asaduzzaman Kohinoor and Vice-President of BOA Sheikh Bashir Ahmed were present at the time.
