National Cricket Championship: Chittagong make flying start beating Bandarban by 8 wkts

Hosts Chittagong district made a flying start in Chittagong Divisional phase of the 36th National Cricket Championship beating Bandarban district by eight wickets at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium here on Saturday.
Bandarban batted first after winning the toss and were bundled out for 95 runs in 32.5 overs in a 50-over-a-side match.
Number seven Rony Sushil contributed the team highest 33 runs off 61 balls featuring three fours and one six while Riadul Islam Sohel (14) and Sumit Chowdhury (10) were other notable batsmen for Bandarban reaching the double figure.
Mirajul Haque grabbed three wickets for 25 runs while Ratan Das took two wickets for 11 runs.
In reply, Chittagong district easily achieved their target scoring 97 runs for 2 in just 14 over.
One down Armanullah scored an unbeaten 44 runs off 50 balls, hitting eight fours and one six while opener Kapiluddin made 29-ball 36 runs with four fours and one six.
Sumit Chowdhury and Rana Das took one wicket each conceding 8 and 12 runs respectively.
