Chattogram Bureau :
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mominur Rahman said everyone living in the hills illegally and at risk was paying rent.
Someone is renting a house with two thousand, five thousand, eighteen thousand rupees. No one is taking possession of it. Eighty percent of those living in the mountains are outsiders.
There is no local in Chittagong. The DC said it while speaking at the monthly development coordination meeting of the Chittagong District Development Coordination Committee at the conference room of the Circuit House on Thursday.
Addressing the people living in the hills, he said everyone should abide by the laws of the land. He cannot live the way he can. The government is working relentlessly for the development of the country. Be a partner in that development. Regarding Jungle Salimpur, he said, a master plan has been adopted for Jungle Salimpur.
There will be a sports complex, a central prison, a model mosque, an iconic mosque, a national information center, a novo theater and an eco-park. No one can stay in Jungle Salimpur illegally. I would like to say to those who are suing Jungle Salimpur that there is no one more powerful than the government. Those living in Jungle Salimpur will be rehabilitated.
He further said that those of you who are the owners-officers-employees of various industrial establishments and factories should collect all the information including their national identity cards before hiring them.
