The name of the new album of Chirkutt’s latest album is Udhao. The reason behind the name is as told by the lead men of the album are like that : Our forests are disappearing, hampering the lives of animals, greenery and the comforts of life. That’s when we decided to name the album Udhao
From everyday uptown melancholy to ecstatic suburban moments, one band has it all covered in their numbers through their minimalist yet powerful lyrics, eclectic compositions and heartening tunes.
They are talking about none other than our very own epic fusion troupe Chirkutt, one of the few names in the Bangladeshi music scene to gloriously explode beyond the nation’s borders and reach distant shores across the world’s oceans. Chirkutt is not a new band by any means, having been around since 2002.
The ravishing music troupe is all set to come out with their third album. Titled Udhao, the album will be shortly available on the Yonder music app with a CD to be released after Eid-ul-Fitr.
Udhao is being released after a long hiatus, since our last album has been released back in 2013. We believe the album is ready to be cherished by the aficionados. We’ve tried our best to keep it simple and be sincere regarding the production of the album.
They have been working on it since year, although the pace was not consistent all throughout. The last one month has been significantly arduous for us, since the team worked really hard to be able to release the product we really want to.
There’s an interesting story behind the title. Chirkutt always goes through a rigorous process before naming an album, hence we barely put an abstract title which may not be equally accessible to all of our audience. There was a number of initial titles but it was changed only two days ago, when we were eating Sehri when we realised that we are improving everyday in terms of science and technology but the love between us is disappearing everyday at the same pace. Our forests are disappearing, hampering the lives of animals, greenery and the comforts of life. That’s when we decided to name the album Udhao.
