A five-member delegation, led by Prof Dr Zhang Li, Vice-President of Yunnan University in China, paid a courtesy call on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique on Monday at the latter’s office.
Other members of the team were Prof Dr Yang Wei, Zhao Xuechun, Duan Kuang and Ma Li.
Director of DU Modern Languages Institute Prof Iffat Ara Nasreen Majid was present on this occasion.
During the meeting they discussed the possibilities of establishing a ‘Confucius Institute’ at Dhaka University in cooperation with Yunnan University, China.
They also discussed the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programs between the two universities.
