China considers Bangladesh as an important country of South Asia.
Members of the visiting delegation of the Communist Party of China (CPC) said this after a meeting with a team of the ruling Awami League at Hotel Sonargoan in the city.
Vice-Minister of the International Department of the CPC led his country’s delegation in the meeting while LGRD Minister and Awami League General Secretary Syed Ashraful Islam led the AL’s side.
After the meeting, Guo Yezhou told reporters that they consider Bangladesh
as an important country of South Asia. Their visit will strengthen relations among China, Bangladesh and other countries of the region.
Syed Ashraful Islam said, “China is now our close friend. We want to make our relations with China further consolidated.”
The Chinese delegation paid homage to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing wreaths at his portrait at Dhanmondi-32 in the morning. Members of the delegation also visited the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum there.
