A Chinese miner was killed and a Bangladesh worker sustained injuries in an accident in an underground tunnel of Barapukuria coal mine early Thursday.
The incident took place around 4 am when stones and mining materials fell on them while they were working in the tunnel, leaving one dead and another injured, said AKM Badrul Alam, Deputy Managing Director of Barapukuria Coal Mining Company. The injured was given first aid, he added. The mine authority, however, couldn’t reveal names of the victims immediately.
