UNB, Dhaka :Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi arrived here on Saturday evening on a three-day visit to discuss the progress on the deals and MoUs signed between Bangladesh and China during Prime Minister’s Sheikh Hasina’s China visit.Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali received him at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on his arrival around 6:45pm, a senior official at the Foreign Ministry said.The Chinese Foreign Minister has been here at the invitation of his Bangladesh counterpart and his visit is considered as another step towards boosting the bilateral tiesbetween the two countries. The bilateral talks between the two countries led by the two Foreign Ministers will start at 10am at the Foreign Ministry.During the Chinese minister’s visit, the two countries will review the progress on MoUs, agreements and Letters of Exchange signed between the two countries during Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s official visit to China from June 6 to 11 this year.The two countries will also discuss programmes to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and China in 2015 in a befitting manner, by jointly organising various events and activities throughout the year.Wang Yi will also meet President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during his visit.He will also hold talks with Opposition Chief Raushon Ershad and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia during his stay in Dhaka. Wang Yi will leave Dhaka at 2:15 pm on Monday.
