A Chinese medical experts’ team, who has the firsthand experience of containing the coronavirus and treating the patients with remarkable success, arrived in Dhaka on Monday with necessary medical equipment.
Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen and Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Li Jiming welcomed them at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport during their arrival.
Dr Momen thanked the Chinese government for assisting Bangladesh to contain coronavirus from the very beginning.
”Through joint efforts, Bangladesh and China will success against the deadly virus,” the minister said.
The team members, full with experts, already discussed and studied the measures and advice for Bangladeshi people, the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka said.
The Chinese Embassy said that the visit of the experts team is showing one of the reflections of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s assurance to the reality.
The team is organized by the National Health Commission and consists of 10 respiratory physicians.
The experts’ team will stay in Bangladesh for two weeks, and will visit Covid-19 dedicated hospitals, quarantine centers, and testing centers.
They will discuss on the epidemics with Bangladeshi counterparts, and make calibrated propositions for containment and treatment.
Earlier, Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, had a phone call conversation with Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of Bangladesh, on May 20.
President Xi reassured Prime Minister Hasina to assist Bangladesh as the trusted friend in the battle against coronavirus.
