China is sending coronavirus detection kits to BD

Staff Reporter: Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen on Sunday said China is giving 500 sets of “most advanced kits” to Bangladesh to help detect coronavirus cases.
They are expected to reach Dhaka on Tuesday,
The Foreign minister said it to journalists at his ministry in Dhaka after a meeting with Chinese Ambassador Li Jiming.
“These are real-time fluorescent RT-PCR kits for detecting the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and are the first such donation to any country from China,” Deputy Chief of Mission and Minister (Counsellor) of the Embassy Yan Hualong said it in the meeting.
He said also that more such kits will be provided if any case is confirmed in Bangladesh.
Foreign Minister Momen said China is always very helpful to Bangladesh. He said that Bangladesh is appreciated the Chinese government’s support in bringing back 312 Bangladeshis from Wuhan, the epicentre of the coronavirus outbreak.
“We are in touch [with China],” the Foreign Minister said, referring to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s message to the Chinese President Xi Jinping, after the coronavirus outbreak in the country.
