Green chilli growers are happy for getting good price with their bumper production in the district.
Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) office sources said during the summer season the green chilli cultivated on 150 hectares of land in the district with the production target of 300 tonnes of chilli.
In the season, the farmers are cultivating chilli with much enthusiasm and keen interest as they are getting bumper production of the hybrid variety and earning money from the cultivation.
Green chilli is being sold at Tk 180-200 per kg in the local market.
Farmers are happy after getting fair price. Deputy Director of DAE Shahi Noor Azam Khan said, the farmers were provided with adequate seeds and training on cultivation and preservation of the production.
