Bangladesh Shishu Academy has taken elaborate programmes marking the ‘Child Rights Week-2017’ with a view to ensuring the security and rights of all children.
The week’s programmes will begin on October 11 and conclude on October 17, according to a press release.
Along the capital, programmes will also be held at all 64 district offices and six upazilas offices of the Shishu Academy.
The programmes include holding discussions, cultural functions, art competitions, and award giving ceremony, rally of the deprived children, bringing out processions, publishing journals, leaflets, booklets, poster, and especial supplements in different national dailies.
On the first day of the week, Bangladesh Shishu Academy and Street Children Rehabilitation Project of Department of Women Affairs will organize a conference on the street children, different competitions and discussions from 10 am at the playground of Dhaka University.
Early Marriage Prevention Day will be held on October 12. Marking the day, a child conference, human chain, distributing leaflets and discussions will be held at the Jatiya Press Club auditorium under the auspicious of Shihu Academy and Multisectoral Programme for Women Repression Prevention at 11 am.
National Girl Child Day will be observed on October 13. Marking the day, a procession of girl children will begin from National Museum at 9 am which will conclude coming at the Shishu Academy. Later, discussions, distribution of prizes for art and debate competitions and a photo exhibition will be held there.
On October 14, a discussion with participation of working children titled ‘Amar Kotha
Shono’ (listen to me) will be held at Bangladesh Shishu Academy auditorium at 10 am.
