Police on Wednesday recovered the decomposed body of a child from a pond near Madbar Bazar in Jalkuri Taltola area of Narayanganj’s Siddhirganj.
The deceased was identified as Riyad (7), son of Raju, a mason in Moonlight area of Siddhirganj
After the child went missing, his father filed a case against the child’s uncle Sujon, who was arrested.
During interrogation, he confessed that he had killed the child for ransom money and hidden the dead body in a pond.
According to his information police recovered the body on Wednesday morning.
Riyad, the child had been missing since April 24.
His father said, “On the afternoon he (Riyad) went missing, my brother-in-law Sujan took my two sons to the shop to buy cakes. Though my two sons came back home, my eldest son Riyad left the house again. He has been missing since then.”
