Child murder: 4 held including mastermind in N’ganj

The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) has arrested four people, including the mastermind, behind the stabbing to death of a ten-year-old boy named Rimon in Sonargaon of Narayanganj. They were arrested after conducting raids in different areas of the upazila. District Superintendent of Police Mohammad Monirul Islam said this at a press conference at the PBI office in Siddhirganj’s signboard area on Monday.
He said, ‘There was a quarrel between the boys of the same age with Rimon, a second grade student, son of one Billal Hossain of Noapara area of Sonargaon upazila. Later, the matter turned into a family dispute. Consequently opposition groups planned for Rimon’s death.
On the afternoon of April 17, Rimon returned home from school and went to play with his friends. Later, when his all friends returned home, he went missing.
His family members searched for him everywhere but could not find him. Later, Rimon’s body was recovered in a bloody condition from a paddy field near the house at noon the day after the incident. The victim’s father filed a murder case with the Sonargaon Police Station.
Later, the PBI started investigation along with the police. With the help of technology, they were able to identify the culprits by unraveling the mystery of the incident in just 24 hours.
Four people directly involved in the killings were arrested in a raid in different areas of Sonargaon on Sunday. One of the accused confessed to being involved in the murder and testified in the court.
PBI Superintendent of Police Mohammad Monirul Islam said the charge-sheet would be filed in the court soon after receiving the autopsy report of the body.
