A Jessore mobile court here on Wednesday saved an under aged girl from being the victim of child marriage in Abhaynagar upazila of the district.
Locals said father of the daughter Abul Hossain had made arrangement for holding marriage of his daughter Ratna Khanom, 16, a student of class ten, with Chanchal Mahmud of Moshiali village under Phultala upazila.
Being informed, the mobile court led by Mondip Gorai acting Upazila Nirbahi Officer, rushed to the house around 11 pm with police and foiled the wedding.
However, father of the girl has committed not to give marry his daughter until they attains matured ages.
