A child was killed while crossing the road at Tarash in Sirajganj on Sunday. The incident took place at Mahishluit Bus Stand in Naogaon Union of the upazila. The deceased was identified as Noman, 06, son of Abu Said of Siddhirganj village under Chatmohar upazila of Pabna district. It is learned that the child was seriously injured on the spot when he was hit by a Pikab van (Dhaka Metro No. Na 133052) heading to Rajshahi from Hatikumrul while crossing the road at Mahishluit bus stand on Saturday afternoon. He was later taken to Sirajganj Sadar Hospital where he died.
In this regard, DSB Tarash Zone SI Abdul Hai Siddiqui said that the injured child died when he was taken to Sirajganj Sadar Hospital.
Hatikumrul Highway Police Station OC Shahjahan said the pickup van was seized and taken to the police station.
