A two and half year old child was killed in a road accident in the city’s Kodomtoli area on Monday noon.
The deceased was identified as Sadia Akter.
Critically injured, the child was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead, said Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH Police Outpost.
Child’s uncle Shahed Mia said Sadia was playing with other children in front of her house. Then an unknown speeding vehicle hit her and she was seriously injured.
Police are trying to identify the bus that fled after the accident, he said.
Baccu Mia said the body was kept at the hospital mortuary for autopsy.
