A twelve-year-old child was killed in a road accident in Fakirhat area under Sitakunda upazila in the district on Friday.
The victim was identified as Afikur Rahman, son of Abul Kashem of Naluapara village under the Sitakunda upazila.
Jahidul Islam, Sub-Inspector of Sitakunda thana, said the accident occurred when a Dhaka-bound goods-laden truck hit him in the area at about 8 am while he was crossing the road, leaving Afikur dead on the spot.
