A five-year old child was killed by unknown miscreants at Boro Ghagatia village in Bajitpur upazila of Kishoreganj district on Thursday afternoon.
The victim was identified as Mohammad Abir (5), son of Gazirchar Union Parishad Chairman Md. Abdul Awal Jewel. Abir was a student of Gazirchar Govt. Primary School.
Quoting family members, Additional Police Super of Bajitpur Circle Md. Aminur Rahman said that Abir went out with his bicycle for his uncle’s house, adjacent to his house.
He also took meals at his uncle’s house and after taking meals he played with his friends near house, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sarowar Jahan.
At one stage Abir was found missing.
Local people found the bicycle of the boy near an adjucent jungle and later they also found the boy in throat-slit state. They took him to Jahurul Islam Medical College & Hospital in Bajitpur town where the doctors declared him dead.
Receiving information, police recovered the body and sent to Kishoreganj General Hospital morgue for autospy.
Police Super ( SP) Md. Mashurkur Rahman Khaled BPM (Bar) told the New Nation that police have started investigation into the brutal killing from different angles.
Police meanwhile arrested four men including his uncle and anti.
