A five year girl child was killed when a battery-driven rickshaw van dashed with a tree at Jhaudia Ashrayan Project under Sailkupa upazila on Jhenaidah on Saturday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Mina Khatun, daughter of van puller Mrinal Shaikh, a resident of the project.
Eye-witnesses and locals said, Mina was staying on their battery driven rickshaw van at their house premises at about 1.30 PM. Suddenly the van started rolling and dashed with a tree. Mina died on the spot as she sustained severe injury on her head. Later the body was brought to Sailkupa upazila health complex.
Sailkupa police station officer in charge Alamgir Hossain when contacted said, they were informed about the accident of the minor girl. An unnatural death (UD) case will be recorded with the police station in this connection, OC said.
