A madrasah student drowned while plucking Water Lilly at a canal at Homna here on Saturday.
Noyon Moni,7, was the son of Johor Mia of village Dorichor under Ghagutia union of the upazila, and student of moktob department of Dorichor Madrasha.
Ohed Murad, SI of Homna police station, informed that while playing with tier the child came to the nearby Noagaon-Kuraliakandi new road. Later on, while plucking water lilly in the roadside canal, he drowned in the water body.
Failing to rescue him, his friends informed about the incident to his house and then the guardians after conducting search found Moni’s body from under water.
An unnatural death case has been lodged with police station in this connection.
