A seven-year-old child drowned in the Fuljhor river in Sirajganj district’s Amdanga village on Friday, police said on Saturday.
Ananya, a Class II student of a local primary school and son of Subal Kumar Haldar of Amdanga village in Sirajganj’s Ullapara upazila, was playing on the bank with other children when he slipped into the river.
His family members soon launched a search operation and fished out the body of the child from the river, said Salanga Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdul Quader Jilani.
