One unidentified child drowned in the sea beach of south Kattali in city while taking bath in the beach.
The identity of the child yet to be traced, source said. The local people rescued the body of the child and handed over to police. Officer incharge of Pahartali thana Ranjit Kumar Barua quoting the local sources told that the child aged about 11-12 went to sea beach in south Kattali point alongwith two others and the victim could not survive from the ebb tide of the sea.
Sensing the matter of drowning, the locals rushed to sea beach and rescued him with critical conditions who later expired at the beach point.
Sensing the news of drowning, Pahartali thana police rushed to the spot and brought the body aimed at sending to morgue, sources said.
