A child named Rahi Akhter drowned in a pond in Raipur upazila of Laxmipur on Tuesday afternoon.
Rahi Akter was identified as a resdient of Rakhalia village in Sonapur Union of the Upazila
According to family sources, Rahi slipped and did fell into the water while playing in the pond next to the house on Tuesday afternoon. After a while, the family members started looking for her and at one stage she was seen floating in the water. Later, the neighbors rescued Rahi and took her to the Upazila Health Complex where the doctor declared her as dead.
