A child named Sharmin Khatun (8) drowned in a pond at Baraigram in Natore district. The accident took place at Atua village of the upazila on Monday noon. Sharmin is the daughter of Shamim Hossain of Atua village.
According to locals, Sharmin went to take a bath in the pond near her house at noon.
Seeing her late to return home after bathing, the family members started searching for her. After not finding him anywhere, the villagers started searching for her by lowering the net in the pond.
At one point, the dead body of baby Sharmin came up with the net. On hearing the news of Sharmin’s untimely death, the curious crowd of the area gathered at her house.
