Chiefs of three services on Friday called on President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban on the occasion of the Armed Forces Day.
Chief of Army Staff General Iqbal Karim Bhuiyan, Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral M Farid Habib and Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal M Enamul Bari called on the President, who is also the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, at 11.30 am.
During the meeting, the President discussed with the three chiefs on various issues related to the armed forces.
The President greeted every member of the armed forces on the occasion of the Armed Forces day.
Secretary concerned of the President’s Office were present.
On this day during the War of Liberation in 1971, the Bangladesh Armed Forces comprising army, navy and air force, came into being and launched an all-out attack on the Pakistani occupation forces.
After independence of the country, this historic day is being observed as the Armed Forces Day every year.
