Director General of Indian Coastguard Krishnaswamy Natarajan arrived here on Sunday on a four-day visit.
The visit of the Indian Coastguard chief to Bangladesh will strengthen defence cooperation particularly in the field of maritime domain and will fortify the close and fraternal ties existing between the Coastguard of the two countries, said the Indian High Commission in Dhaka on Monday.
The Director General is accompanied by two delegation members.
During the visit, the Director General will meet high ranking dignitaries of Bangladesh – the Home Minister, Chief of Naval Staff and Director General of Bangladesh Coastguard.
The Director General will also attend a high level meeting between Indian and Bangladesh Coastguard.
