Chhayanaut is going digital again. After cancelling Pohela Boishakh celebrations in its traditional form and taking Ramna Batamul straight to YouTube, the
institute is reimagining its celebration of Rabindranath Tagore’s birthday. On the occasion of Tagore’s 160th birthday, the leading cultural organisation will host a show called Dhor Nirbhoy Gaan. It will be streamed live from Chhayanaut’s YouTube and Facebook page at 9:00pm on May 8.
Previously, Chhayanaut decided not to pursue its initial plan of celebrating Pohela Boishakh on a limited scale at the Ramna Batamul festival ground after the country had been seeing a steep rise in Covid-19 deaths and infections in the last month.
