Bangladesh Chhatra Moitri, a left leaning student organization, on Wednesday staged demonstrations in the capital demanding immediate abolition of the Digital Security Act (DSA).
Some activists of Bangladesh Chhatra Moitri brought out a procession at around 11:30 from Shahbag area. After parading different roads of the campus, they held a rally at the base of Raju Memorial sculpture.
Addressing the rally, Chhatra Moitree President Kazi Abdul Motaleb Jewel said, “Citizens have right to criticize government. It is not anti-state activity. We see the DSA Act is only used to suppress freedom of speech and criticism. The government has to abolish this notorious act.”
General Secretary of the organization Atulon Das Alo, Organising Secretary Aditi Srishti, Central Vice President Jesmin Akter, Literary, Cultural and Sports Secretary Sumaiya Parveen Jahra, among others, were present in the protest rally.
