Niaz shares third slot in Chess Festival

GM Niaz Murshed shared the 3rd position along with other two players in the points table in Grandmasters Event of the Capablanca Chess Festival is now being
held in Pretoria of South Africa.
In the 8th round games held on Friday last, GM Niaz Murshed split points with IM Emojong Elijah of Uganda and secured 4.5 points.
At total ten players from seven countries including four grandmasters and four International Masters are taking part in the meet.
Thirty players win 1st round of Sub-Junior Chess

Thirty players won their first round games of the Azimuddin Bhuiyan 33rd National Sub-Junior (Under-16 Years) Chess Championship that began on Monday at Chess Federation hall-room of National Sports Council Old Building.
Syed Shahab Uddin Shamim, acting president of Bangladesh Chess Federation, formally inaugurated the meet as the chief guest.
A total of 59 players from fifteen districts are participating in the event.
In the first round games, FM Fahad Rahman beat M Sharif, Rafshan Bin Omer beat Ahnab Abedin, Inhiad Hossain beat Tanzina Akter Tani, Nur Newaz Oyon beat M Miraz Hossain and Raphal beat Miraz.
The second round games will be held tomorrow at the same venue.
