Singer Cheryl Fernandez-Versini says she will not sign child stars to her record label because there is too much pressure on them to succeed. The 31-year-old Only Human hit-maker plans to only tie up deals for singers, who are ‘over 18’ so she can nurture their talent and make sure they are ready for the competitive nature of the music industry, reported the Daily Mirror.Cheryl added fears acts any younger than 18 may crumble under the demands of showbusiness.“It’s too much pressure. They would have to be over 18. But I would develop them while they’re in school. Look around at the child stars – the record’s not exactly promising.”The singer cannot wait to get started on her record label because she loves nurturing talent in her role as a judge on The X Factor.“I would nurture the artist before they put anything out there. I would ensure my girls do a preparation course. I love the aspect of X Factor where I’m nurturing talent. Watching the sparkle in someone else’s eye and remembering you having that dream, it’s such a buzz,” she added. -PTI
