Several fraud gangs are actively cheating people, particularly youths, in the name of providing jobs at Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant (RNPP) Project at Ishwardi in Pabna district , it is alleged .
This was disclosed after arrest of two cheats recently and following the incident a total of 19 job seekers who have been by the so-called job providers went to local police station and sought legal assistance .
Among the victims, Saiful islam , Md Suruj Mia and Sohag told journalists that a gang is active around RNPP Project area and a section of dishonest officials of the project are allegedly involved in cheating in the name of providing jobs.
While talking to this correspondent , Site-In-Charge Ruhul Quddus said, we are taking legal action against them and the matter has been informed to the lawenforcing agencies . He also advised people to immediately inform the law enforcement agencies if anyone becomes a victim of fraud.
Sometimes , the gangs usually paste attractive advertisements on roadside walls, vehicles and other places in the project site offering part-time and full-time jobs.
Victims said fake interviews are also conducted by the employers sitting in rented offices.
They said members of the gangs collect money from job-seekers for services like resume preparation, resume forwarding and interviews.
Many job-seekers are falling into the trap of cheating as they usually look for a source of income while studying.
However, many victims complained that many such gangs are working under the noses of police. For this reason, no one can do anything if he/she is cheated, they said.
In the meantime , Ishwardi police arrested two people for allegedly taking thousands of taka from job aspirants at Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant (RNPP) Project at Ishwardi in the district on Sunday night . Police sources said , two members of the cheating group were arrested in a raid from Pakshey Union of Ishward .
